D’Tigers need more – than Two – friendlies before World Cup – Ugboaja

Former D’Tigers power forward, Ejike Ugboaja is confident Nigeria will do well at the World Cup in China but insists the team needs to play many more tune-up games.

Recently, the NBBF announced two grade A friendlies; the Dominican Republic and Canada, have been lined up for Coach Alex Nwora’s team.
But, Ugboaja who represented Nigeria at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and 2012 Olympic Games, believes more friendlies will give the already “hyped up” players a better chance.
‘ I’m proud of what they’re doing right now. The line up of friendlies is a good one, but they should get more; get the team to play more games.
‘ I see our boys doing better because everybody is hyped up, but I think we should get them more friendlies,’ Ugboaja told brila.net.
