Nigeria’s D’Tigers and Orlando Magic player Alfarouq Aminu has stated that Nigeria’s target at the fast approaching FIBA world cup in China is to make a podium finish at the tournament.
Alfarouq who is the younger of the Aminu brothers told www.brila.net that he believes Nigeria is set to compete at the world cup and not just participate stressing that the hard work so far in training has been geared towards setting the team up for the challenge of playing and competing at the world cup.
“I think it’s a great competition that we’re going to be able to go and play in. We’re really excited about it. We’re getting prepared for it and I think it’s a beautiful thing right there competing and representing your country.
We have a target of getting a medal, that’s the target of this team. We’re out here working everyday for that goal for sure.”
