Duru admits Rivers United Must Win Big at Home against Young Africans

Rivers United defender Ebube Duru says the team must make every opportunity count against Young Africans.

The Nigerian champions are set to take on the Tanzanian side in the CAF Confederation Cup, first-leg, quarter finals match at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, in Uyo, this Sunday.

Duru insists a top performance which includes scoring bucket load of goals is what the team requires to be in good stead for the return leg.

“We know what is at stake, this is the first time for Rivers United coming into the Quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

“And this is a team we’ve played before; last year in the qualification round in the CAF Champions League, and we were lucky to beat them home and away, so it will be like a revenge for them.

“So we know what is at stake and everybody is fully focused. The motivation is there, we’re motivating ourselves because we know we have a huge task come on Sunday.

“We know we are not just representing Rivers State, we’re representing Nigeria as a country, so we have to come out, do our best, and make sure we get the maximum victory.”

“We know scoring more goals at home will help us before the second leg,” the left-back said.

Rivers United is the only Nigerian Club left in CAF competitions this season.
