Nigeria forward Alex Iwobi said that the Super Eagles are determined not to leave Egypt with empty handed after failing to reach the final of the ongoing African Cup of Nations.
The three time African champions will take on the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in Wednesday’s losers final and the Arsenal forward insists the team want to end the competition on high.
“We still have one more game to play. We would like to end the competition on a high. We would like to go out with a win, “Iwobi told a news conference on Tuesday.
“It hurts a lot to lose in the semifinal. We have a chance to put things right in the third placed game. Hopefully, we can use our anger to try and win the game.”
Nigeria has never lost a third place match in the history of the competition and will look to consolidate on the records against the Tunisians on Wednesday, 8 pm Nigerian time.
