Ebube Duru’s brace help Rivers United maintain Perfect home record

Rivers United recorded another big win over struggling Wikki Tourists in the Nigeria Premier Football League at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in a midweek game.

Two goals from Ebube Duru; one in either half, were enough to give Rivers United their fourth win of the season.

The brace took the defender’s tally to three goals this season and the team won in all the games he scored.

The first goal was a free kick from 30 yards out, while the second came from the penalty spot after the visitors defender was penalized for ball handling inside the box.

Rivers United then survived a Wikki Tourists perfect counter attack, goalkeeper Seidu Mutawakilu dived to his left and made a fantastic low save.

Duru nearly had his hat-trick with his angle shot missing the target just narrowly, before Nyima Nwagua saw his goal bound effort saved by the keeper.

Rivers United won the game and made it five-game unbeaten and have also kept a hundred percent home record in tact to maintain top spot in Group B of the NPFL with 13 points, one point ahead of Lobi Stars (12 points).

Rivers United will be guest to Doma United FC this weekend.
