Former Nigerian athlete Emem Edem has accused the Athletics Federation of Nigeria of favouritism in the treatment of coaches and that the Federation hasn’t done much in the development of coaches.
The 2003 All Africa Games Gold medalist speaking in a chat with brila.net said the situation is not encouraging for coaches and that the Federation should do more in this regard to encourage coaches who work with athletes.
“The coaches are really doing their best in training these athletes but what about the Federation, what are they doing for the coaches, they are not doing their anything in terms of upgrading them, they are not doing anything sending coaches out to go for training, more training they are not doing it instead they are picking their favourites people they can control to go to the training.”
