Coach Austin Eguavoen has laughed off Super Eagles’ tag as favourites for the 33rd African Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles produced a commanding display against the Pharaohs of Egypt on Tuesday and won a Kelechi Iheanacho’s 33rd minute striker.
The three time African Champions have played the best football at the ongoing tournament, Nevertheless, Eguaveon has dismissed suggestions his side are expected to lift the title.
“We are doing very well now, thanks to the players, but it’s too early to talk about being favorite.”
“We have to approach the next game with all seriousness and after crossing that huddle, we look at the next game. ” He said.
Nigeria will play Sudan this Saturday and a win would guarantee them a place in the round of 16.
