Rivers United’s performance in the first stanza of the Nigeria Professional Football League was below par, but the team will bounce back better, Head Coach, Stanley Eguma has vowed.
Eguma told www.brila.net that the burden of playing in two competitive competitions weighed heavily on his side.
Rivers United were knocked out of the race to reach the CAF Champions League group phase, but managed to book a place in the second tier of Africa’s club competition.
The Port Harcourt based club have also showed signs of improvement on the domestic front and the Coach insists they’ll maintain the momentum with essentially necessary transfer activities.
Eguma leads the team out again next week as they commence their CAF Confederation Cup campaign proper with a first leg away tie against Club Africain of Tunisia.
