Stanley Eguma is impressed with Rivers United’s professional performance that saw them beat Kano Pillars 2-0 on Wednesday.
The Sai Masu Gida who were on a good run of form brought down to earn by Eguma’s tinkered men in one of the week 26 fixtures of 2020-2021 NPFL fixtures at the Adokiye Amiesimaka’s Stadium.
The first-half goal from Sunday Adetunji and Paul Acquah’s strike four minutes after the restart was all the Pride of Rivers needed to inflict a rare defeat on the Sai Masu Gida.
In his reaction to the result, Eguma described Pillars as a very good team, but gave kudos to his side for finding a way through their difficult tactics.
“It was a tough game, we prepared very well because Kano Pillars is a very strong side and they have been doing well, that’s why they are on top of the table. They came here with hope, but after scoring the first goal, we launched more attack, but we could not increase the tally before the end of the first half.”
