Egypt suffers big blow ahead of U20 AFCON Opener with Nigeria

Egypt will be without Midfielder Salah El-Din Basha for the CAF U20 African Cup of Nations.

The young Pharaohs, Egypt, are drawn in Group A alongside Nigeria, Senegal and Mozambique.

Salah Basha’s injury is a big blow to the team’s hope of qualifying for the last four of the tournament.

The Midfielder sustained the injury during a friendly game against Uganda on Monday.

“Unfortunately, I’m not gonna make it to the African Cup due to a hamstring injury but I will be there to support my country.

“I will be back stronger”, The player posted on Social media.

Egypt will kick off their against Mozambique at the Cairo International Stadium on Sunday, 19 February.

They’ll face Ladan Bosso led Flying Eagles three days later.
