Nigeria won an eight Bronze medal match at the Africa Cup of Nations following a narrow 1-0 victory over Tunisia on Wednesday at the Al Salam Stadium.
Forward Odion Ighalo scored early in the first-half; inside the opening three minutes, and it proved to be enough for a win, albeit the game was pale.
Ighalo’s goal against Tunisia also saw his tally in the competition reach five – two more than his closest.
Unfortunately, just before the break, the forward pulled a hamstring and it brought his action in the tonight to an end.
The chances came few and far between for both teams in the second-half and it wasn’t so exciting, at least not until the dying minutes after the introduction of winger Samuel Kalu.
Kalu went close twice with efforts from set pieces, but goalkeeper Moez Ben Charifa would not be breached again.
