Ekong happy with Super Eagles display, hails NFF for Brazil friendly

Stand in Nigeria Captain Williams Troost Ekong has hailed the performance of the Super Eagles against Brazil in Sunday’s International friendly held at Kallang National Stadium in Singapore.

The African giants lined up against the five time World Champions and didn’t disappoint on the night of their second game since finishing third at the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Joe Aribo who is making his second apparence for the three time African champions opened the scoring in the 35th minutes of the game, but the Brazilians crawled back into the game and equalised through Real Madrid man Casemiro early in the second 45 minutes.

However both side failed to net the winner before the final whistle and settled for a draw.

Ekong took to his social media to commend his teammates for their credible performance against the South American champions.

“🇳🇬🦅 Great fight from the boys to get the draw against Brazil tonight. #NaijaSpirit Nigeria Super Eagles” he tweeted.

After two friendly against Ukraine and Brazil , Super will now turn their attention to November’s 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers with Squirrels of Benin Republic and Lesotho.
