William Troost-Ekong made his debut for Salernitana during Friday night’s Serie A fixture against Lecce at Via Del Mare.
Ekong played the entire of the games as Salernitana beat the host 2-1 to secure their first three points in the league since October.
The 29 year-old left Watford in the English Championship last week, after three seasons and returned to the Serie A.
His reintroduction to Italian football was marked by an impressive performance by the CB who filled the stats sheet.
Ekong completed 5 tackles, 1 interception, 2 clearances, 2 blocks and 2 aerial duels won.
Davide Nicola’s men were ruthless from the start, hitting the hosts with a quick double from Boulaye Dia (5′) and Tonny Vilhena (20′).
Lecce pulled one back when Gabriel Strefezza (23′) struck, but Salernitana held on for their first league win since October; ending a run of seven games without victory.
Meanwhile, the win also moved Salernitana to 14th place; leapfrogging Lecce by a spot.
