Ekong revels in goal-scoring outing against Luton Town

Nigeria’s Super Eagles defender William Troost Ekong to delighted to score his first goal for Watford in two years.

The former Udinese scored the second goal as Hornets beat beat Luton Town 4-0 at the Vicarage Road on Sunday.

The win also marked the biggest margin between the two teams since the Hornets’ famous victory by the same scoreline at Kenilworth Road in October 1997.

William Troost-Ekong revelled in the success of the day, and hoping to score more for the Slaven Bilic’ side.

“Games of this magnitude are so important and we’ve talked previously about our lack of consistency, but today everything aligned and I’m really proud of this team because we delivered.”

“It was a routine we had worked on,” he said.

“You try to attack an area and hope that the ball drops there. I’d love to score from half a metre out every time!

“You just have to keep attacking the space and eventually something will drop for you. That’s what happened today.

“I was just so happy in that moment of the game as it gave us an extra boost just before half-time”, he told the club media.
