Elephant Girls Rising Star Grace John on Three Months injury layoff: “It made me Tougher”

Grace John scored an impressive 17 points in the win over Black Gold in a quarter-final game in the Playoffs of the Women’s Premier Basketball League on Tuesday, and she wants more.

She dropped a career high 17 points to inspire holders, First Bank BC to a 90-33 points victory at the Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Lagos, coming a few months after a nasty injury.

The Point Guard fractured her arm during a practice game in the post season, but that gruesome experience has only made her stronger and toughened her resolve to make huge impact this season.

“That injury actually made me stronger or should i say tougher,” She told www.brila.net.

“When I had that injury I was not allowed to do anything for 3 months, whenever I watched my teammates training I felt really bad.

“But I was lucky it was my left arm, so anytime I came to practice, I’d pick up a ball and start shooting with my right hand, then I noticed my shot improved.”

With the title defence on the line, the 9 times champions will battle Air Warriors for a place in the finals, Wednesday, in Lagos.

Per BballNaija, The last time First Bank lost a #ZenithBankWBL game was in 2015 when they lost the championship game to Dolphins 72-77.
