Emery showers praise on Iwobi despite Arsenal loss to Liverpool

Despite suffering a 5-1 in the hand of Liverpool at the weekend, Arsenal manager Boss, Unai Emery said he‘s satisfied with the performance of Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi.

Iwobi was on from start to finish and was lively through out the encounter, he set up the opening goal and Arsenal only goal of the match for Maitland-Niles in the 11th minutes .

“There were some positives, Niles played as right winger and scored. Iwobi, after some matches not playing very well, he played 90 minutes with a good performance,” Emery told reporters after the game.

The former Sevilla and Paris Saint German boss however admits that the Gunners has to stronger while defending against a good side.

“But defensively we need to be stronger, to work.”

 

“Our defensive moments in our box, it’s my responsibility.”

After Arsenal has gone ahead, Liverpool replied with five goals including Roberto Firmino scoring a hattrick with Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah completing the route as they extend their lead on the league table to seven points over champions Manchester City.
