Emmanuel Dennis’ goal fails to save Watford

Emmanuel Dennis was on target for Watford FC in their defeat at home against Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday.

Dennis scored in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to save the Hornets from defeat as they fell 1-2 at Vicarage Road.

Christian Norgaard put Brentford ahead after 15 minutes in the first half. His goal and Brentford’s advantage was cancelled 10 minutes after the restart in second half

Emmanuel Dennis notching up his 10th goal of league season for the struggling Watford.

But in the final minute of stoppage-time, Jansson converted from a Christian Eriksen free-kick to snatch a dramatic win for the Bees.

The defeat further moved Roy Hodgson’s side towards relegation, while Brentford move up to 11th in the table.

It was Brentford’s third victory in a row in the top flight for the first time since September 1946.

The Hornets are second from bottom, with just six games remaining, while 18th-placed Burnley and 17th-placed Everton both have two games in hand on them.

Watford also became only the third team to lose 10 consecutive top-flight home games in a row, after Birmingham City in February 1986 and Sunderland in August 2005.
