Enyimba blow Kwara United away in Aba

Kwara United continued their disastrous start to the NPFL season, losing 3-0 to Enyimba on Sunday.

The club has now failed to win any of their two matches so far, drawing one and losing two.

Kwara United boss Azeez Mohammed made four changes to the team that lost 1-0 to Bendel Insurance last Wednesday, with Goalkeeper Abdullateef Ishola getting his first start of the season.

Striker Owolabi Aremu got his Kwara United debut upfront, while Etagbara Bright and Mohammed Alao also got the chance to impress in the colours of the Harmony Boys.

Ezekiel Tamara dropped to the bench despite his impressive performances in the last two matches. Wasiu Mamoud and Paul Samson also sat on the bench.

Despite the changes, Kwara United’s resistance only lasted for 11 minutes as Emeka Obioma put Enyimba in front following a through pass from Sadiq Abubakar.

It became 2-0 seven minutes later, a dangerous cross by Emeka Obioma arrived on the path of Sadiq Abubakar who located Adebambo.

The former Kwara United striker wasted no time time as he blasted the ball into the back of the net to punish his former side.

The visitors were forced to make an early substitution after Muri Dagbo sustained bad injury and was replaced by Ezekiel Tamara.

Ayobami Junior should have reduced the deficit for United moments later, but, he fluffed the simple opportunity.

Emeka Obioma put the game beyond Kwara United by grabbing his second of game in the 68th minute.

The result means Coach Abdulazeez Mohammed under pressure.
