Enyimba’s capitulation in the first 19 minutes of their CAF Confederation Cup group match against CARA Brazzaville was self-inflicted, but they still have much to fight for according to their forward Mfon Udoh.

CARA raced to a 3-0 lead in the opening 19 minutes of the Group C match at the Stade Alphonse Massemba-Débat in Brazzaville and Udoh insists the People’s Elephant were slow off the mark.
“Sometimes, football can be unpredictable. We were very slow at the beginning of the game and they punished us for it.

“What matters is we have three points, so we need to keep pushing for more points; we’ll have to return to dot the Is and cross the Ts.”
Udoh was the league’s record scorer in 2014 – and holds the record for the most goals scored in a single season with 23 goals.

Two seasons ago he was also the CAF Champions League top scorer with 9 goals, but Enyimba have struggled in the attacking third, a situation the player laments.

“We struggled to score goals [against CARA], I don’t understand why.

“We’re still in the contest and I’m certain we’ll keep working and hopefully get something positive,” the Enyimba forward told Brila.net.
