Nigeria Premier Football League Champions Rivers United are out of this season’s Federation Cup, few days after exiting CAF Confederations Cup.
The Stanley Eguma’s side lost to bitter rivals Enyimba FC in round of 64 clash played on Thursday.
The game ended without a goal after 9 minutes but Enyimba triumph 5-4 on penalties.
The result ends Rivers United’s hope of winning domestic double this season.
The league remains their only hope of winning something, despite assembling the best squad in the country.
