Enyimba striker Victor Mbaoma has stated that the People’s Elephants dramatic payback win against South Africa’s side Orlando Pirates is a good sign for the Aba based side on how tough they can be as a team after starring at elimination in the face before sealing qualification to the quarter-final via a 95th-minute breakthrough.
Mbaoma speaking in a chat with brila.net stressed that the team at a time thought it was over but decided to give the last push we paid off eventually.
He reckoned that the push will serve as a fresh tonic in the battle moving forward as the team gets set for Friday’s quarter-final draws.
It’s a good memory that can not erase from our memory for a very long time and it is the right way to pay them back for what they did to us in their country when they scored us at the last minute. We have to make these people feel the same pain. It’s a good thing for us and it’s a good sign for us.”
