Nigeria’s Ese Brume finished second in the women’s long jump event at the ongoing World Athletics Championship in Oregon United States of America.
The Olympic Bronze medalist leaps 6.85 meters to win the silver medal and add to her medal haul.
Brume had won a bronze medal at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar, and added a bronze at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
United States’s Ivana Valueta, claimed the gold medal with a 7:08m jump, while Lorraine Ugen of Great Britain clinched bronze.
Ese Brume’s compatriot Ruth Usoro missed out on the podium after failing to make the top three.
However, it was the first time that Nigeria will present two finalists at the event.
