Estranged friends tops Falcons 32-Woman AWCON list

Head Coach Randy Waldrum has invited 32 players to the camp ahead of the forthcoming CAF African Women’s Championship.

The Super Falcons who are the Cup holders are expected to camp in Morocco for two-week for the 12th Women Africa Cup of Nations holding in that country, 2nd – 23rd July.

Topping the list of invited players is Onome Ebi who was recently appointed as Captain after her alleged former best friend Asisat Oshoala was stripped off the role.

Onome led the team to out for the doubleheader international friendlies against Canada last month, but Oshoala wasn’t available for the games due to injury.

However, Oshoala was not happy with the decision at the time and she went ahead to take a dig at Onome Ebi in several social media posts, saying she’s 40 and still looking for validation.

Her Twitter post reads:” May I not be 40 and still desperately crave validation

”When somebody openly said she FASTED and PRAYED against the captain Band, how we wan do na? Check everybody wey collect after her, how far?

Seeing the two topping the list of invited players for the African Women’s Championship means there are interesting days ahead when camp reopens.

The players are expected to arrive in Rabat, Morroco Rabat on June 17 and the training camp would start on June 18.

The Falcons, are in Group C alongside South Africa, Botswana, and Burundi at this year’s WAFCON in Morocco.
