Ahmed Musa and CSKA Moscow were expected to bring the fight to Arsenal in the first-leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash, but the contest lasted just 35 minutes as the Gunners blew away their Russian opponents.
Arsenal crushed their opponents in a 4-1 win at the Emirate Stadium on Thursday.
Musa was a worthy adversary to the Arsenal defence for the most part of the game – when CSKA managed to keep hold of the ball – but a double from both Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette stifled the fight.
Arsenal are considered one of the favorites for this season’s title, but Arsene Wenger’s men will need to work their socks off in Russia, where their previous visits have yielded no W.
