Europa League: Alex Iwobi’s Magic Inspires Arsenal Win

Thursday Night football adventure continued for Alex Iwobi and Arsenal as they travelled to Sweden, Saw and Conquered against a below par Ostersunds in a round of 32 Europa League match.

Iwobi played all 90minutes and helped the Gunners cruise to a comfortable 3-0 win on a cold night in Östersund.

The Arsenal youngster may or may not have been away, but Ostersunds fielded fellow Nigeria Alhaji Gero – he however played only 45 minutes.

After the game Iwobi tweeted: 🔴⚪️ #Win

His effort led to Arsenal’s first goal after his shot was parried into the path of Nacho Monreal, who simply had to tuck it in from inside the six-yard area.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s effort came off a defender to double Arsenal’s lead in the first half before Mesut Ozil added a third on 58 minutes.

The home side had the chance to score a consolation after Hector Bellerin bundled over an opponent inside the box.

However, Tom Pettersson’s penalty was saved by, captain on the night, David Ospinas to help the EPL club keep a clean sheet and hold a firm advantage into the second-leg.
