The pitch of the Cape Coast Stadium, Ghana is now wearing a new look after the recent renovation works on the turf.

The stadium has been scheduled for the world cup playoff between the two West African giants but there have been doubts owing to the bad state of this pitch which became glaring after the stadium hosted independence Day parade on 6th March to mark Ghana’s 65th anniversary.

Hence, the CAF/FIFA inspection delegation inspected the stadium which has been undergoing repairs behind closed doors yesterday, Monday 14th March, 2022.

As Ghanaians and Nigerians await their final decision in the next 48 hours, the pictures exclusively gotten by Brila has indicated that the match will most likely take place at Cape Coast Stadium as planned.

A source in Ghana revealed to brila.net that yesterday’s visit has cleared the doubt on the suitability of the pitch for the clash and believes the inspection delegation will give it a high pass mark.

Nigeria Football Federation had filed their complaints to CAF over the poor state of the pitch, hence the visit of the inspection delegation but with the pitch getting back to its lush green state, FIFA/CAF might see no need to take the match to a neutral venue.
