NPFL legend and League Management Company of Nigeria Players adviser Victor Ezeji has called on Nigeria national team coach Gernot Rohr not to judge players of Enyimba, Rivers, and other NPFL players on the strength of play exhibited by the two teams in Sunday’s below-par play in the CAF Confederation cup second leg playoff round tie.
Ezeji speaking in a chat with brila.net revealed that he was with Gernot Rohr after the game on Sunday in Port Harcourt where the coach complained bitterly on the quality of play admittedly citing the poor playing surface too but stressed that the players and other NPFL players shouldn’t be assessed on the quality of the game played on Sunday.
“I was with Gernot Rohr after the game and he complained bitterly about the turf and I told him you can’t use this turf to judge these players at least you watch the first leg and he said yes but I told him you cannot use the second leg to judge the players because the turf was extremely bad.
He specifically mentioned Anayo from Enyimba that the boy was terrific in the first game and I told him the boy is good but you can’t use the second leg to judge him or any other player because of the playing surface.”
