Super Eagles and Heartland FC goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has rued the unfortunate injury he sustained in the National team camp that ruled him out of the Super Eagles trip to California USA ahead of Sunday’s high profile international friendly against the El Tri of Mexico.
Ezenwa speaking in a chat with brila.net said the scan confirmed that he will be out for more than a week before returning which effectively ended any chance of been part of the team. He however added that he is happy the injury wasn’t as serious as first feared.
“They did scan and it shows that I have to rest for a week plus, the most important thing when we went for the scan atleast they said that there was no fracture, that is my utmost joy and as a footballer you just have to accept it when such things happen and move on with your life. Ezenwa is happy but I feel that I was supposed to go for this game but it didn’t work so I just have to accept fate as one of those things in football.”
