Nigeria U20 Women’s captain Monday Gift has revealed her dream of a step up into the senior national team following the youth team’s success at the Africa Games.
Gift told brila.nets’ Mo Saliu in an interview that she hopes to build on the performance in Morocco when she rejoins he club, NWPL side FC Robo.
“After this African Games, we are all going back to our clubs preparing for the world cup qualifiers and after that, we are looking forward to the Olympics and also joining the senior team, that is if my performance will guarantee that.”
The Falconets defeated Cameroon in the Women’s finals event, 3-1 on penalties to win their ever first gold medal after 12 years.
