Super Falcons Coach Thomas Dennerby has promised that his team will avenge a shock 1-0 loss to South Africa when both teams clash Saturday in the 2018 AWCON final in Accra.
Speaking after the narrow win over the Indomitable Lioness on Tuesday, The Swede said the attacking trio must improve to increase the Falcons’ chances of retaining the Championship.
“We have a very good chance to beat South Africa,” Dennerby declared.
“It was really a tough game (vs Cameroon), a lot of players are tired, it’s time for recovery and I will say we have a good chance to win in the final.
“When it comes to the final we will do whatever it takes to bring the cup back to Nigeria.”
He admitted an attack that paraded Asisat Oshoala, Desire Oparanozie and Francisca Ordega will have to improve in the final on Saturday.
Dernneby said the first target at the AWCON has been achieved which is to qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women World Cup in France and the next target is to retain the championship.
