Fans hoping to see Nigeria put in a formidable challenge, as host, at the 2018 African Athletics Championship (CAA 2018) will be shortchanged, because the Athletics Federation will not present a strong field, according to former national champion, Olusoji Fasuba.
95 Athletes, including Blessing Okagbare, Yinka Ajayi, Patience George, Tobi, Amusan, Divine Oduduru and Seye Ogunlewe were named by the Athletics Federation, but Fasuba insists the Country will not have the strength in numbers as any host should.

‘We are not going into this competition with our very best or the numbers we ought to as hosts. The Federation is simply cutting off people they feel are opinionated for friends and girl friends,’ the African Men’s 100m record holder told Babafemi Raji on Brila FM’s Sports Machine.
