Fatai Osho proud of his ‘fatigued’ players after beating Adamawa United

Enyimba coach Fatai Osho says his players are suffering from fatigue, despite beating Adamawa United Adamawa United on Monday.

Enyimba laboured to a 2 – 1 win over struggling Adamawa United with Anayo Iwuala and Imo Obot getting on scoring sheet, while Idris Abubakar scored a penalty for the hosts.

The victory at the Tafawa Balewa stadium in Bauchi lifted the People’s Elephants to third position on the NPFL log with 12 points from 6 matches.

Speaking at the news conference after the match, Osho said he’s happy his team finally have their first win on the road, but expressed his concern due to fatigue.

“A lot, a lot of relief. We have not been doing too well on the road. And getting a win here is an inspiration going forward,” Osho said.

“It was a splendid performance. A lot of fatigue also. We were able to fight that. In the midweek, we were in Ilorin (playing against Kwara United). A lot of traveling. This took a toll on the players.

“And for them to have struggled and maneuvered their way and get the result, it is quite commendable.”

“We had to do something to choke the middle so that we can reduce those long balls. We were able to reduce that to the barest minimum. That’s what they want to use to hurt us along the line. Then, we’re able to curtail it to some extent.” he said.

Next for Enyimba is home clash against Katsina United on Sunday.
