Head Coach Fatai Osho is happy with River United’s victory over Enyimba in one of match day 3 fixtures of 2021-2022 NPFL encounter.
The Pride of Rivers United recorded their first away win of the season, following their 1-0 success over the Aba Elephants at the Enyimba’s international stadium on Wednesday.
Ishaq Rafiu’s 51st minute striker was all Rivers United needed to end Enyimba’s flamboyant start to the season, under Finidi George who replaced Fatai Osho at the end of last season.
Speaking after the game, Osho said, he’s happy with three points, but insists the defeat won’t take anything from his former side who themselves won five straight game before Wednesday.
“We are happy about his results, because we knew what we are coming to face.”
“Enyimba have been consistent in the past and won all their games, both on local scene and the continent. They are a formidable side and this result won’t take anything away from them.”
“But we knew what we wanted and we went for it. We saw some lapses and we exploited them effectively and tactically, the players played a big role in this result.” Osho said.
The match was Fatai Osho’s first return to Aba, since leaving Enyimba International.
