Fatai Osho still confident of winning NPFL title for Enyimba

Enyimba’s coach, Fatai Osho, says he is proud of his boys even though they lost to Akwa United in Uyo.

The Elephants suffered 1-0 to Akwa United at the Nest of Champions in Uyo on Sunday.

Charles Ashimene scored an 86th-minute winner from the spot after Nelson Ogbonnaya brought down Mfon Udo in the box.

The defeat left Enyimba fifth on the table with six games left to play in the 2020-2021 Nigeria professional football league campaign.

Speaking after the game, Osho said he hasn’t given up hope of winning the title and or pick a ticket for the CAF Champions League or Confederation Cup next season.

“Anything can still happen, this is football. We want to look at a continental ticket. If you look at our history, no team has won more points on the road than Enyimba. We could have added more points today but unfortunately, it was not today”

“I’m so proud of my players. They stuck to the tactical agreement prior to this match and we can see that we had the game in our palms and we could string surprises by getting three points.” He told the media.
