Swiss Super League side FC Lugano has confirmed that Sebastian Osigwe has tested positive for Coronavirus on Friday.
The management of the club confirmed in a press release ahead of their next game against Young Boys.
“The management of FC Lugano announces that the tests carried out following the positivity of Mattia Bottani also highlighted the positivity of the goalkeeper Sebastian Osigwe”, the club said.
Osigwe was in line to make his debut for Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the upcoming 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier, but the recent developments could jeopardize his chances.
The Swiss-born goalkeeper was among the players penciled down by coach Gernot Rohr for the doubleheader African cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone.
