Feyenoord Manager Slot admits Dessers unhappy with bench role

Feyenoord Manager, Arne Slot has expressed his satisfaction with the progress of on loan Cyriel Dessers following the Forward’s impressive goal scoring form for the Club.

Dessers, who is on loan from KRC Genk, has been a hit at Feyenoord since joining at the beginning of the season.

The Nigerian international is Feyenoord’s leading scorer this season with 16 goals in all competitions, despite not being a starter.

His latest brace in the UEFA Conference League took Feyenoord to the semi-final at the expense of Slavia Prague.

“Cyriel has played fantastic,” said Slot.

” Cyriel is more than worth his money. By renting out Robert Bozeník we have found some money to rent another striker.”

“If you can achieve such a striker with these amounts, that is a compliment for the scouting, among other things.”

The Coach also revealed, Dessers was unhappy last weekend because he had to start on the bench.

“No doubt there are now people asking why he wasn’t drafted last week, but this match suited him a bit better. We now needed a cue point further from the goal,” Slot told ESPN.

“We are of course very happy. It’s a great achievement. We have already played so many matches in Europe and to get to the semi-finals now is very nice.”

Feyenoord Boss Arne Slot added that he will like to keep Cyriel Dessers beyond the summer, but it depends on his parent Club.
