Nigeria dropped a place in the latest FIFA ranking published on Thursday by the world governing body.

Ghana stepped up a place to 6th and 47th in Africa and the world ranking.

Three of the other four African countries representing at the World Cup did move up with Senegal, Morocco and Egypt climbing a spot each.

Tunisia is the only other country that dropped in the ranking; losing seven paces 14th to 21st in the world ranking, but still maintain the top spot in Africa.

On the other hand, Nigeria’s world cup opponents Argentina (5th) and Iceland (22nd) did not move in the ranking, but, Croatia dropped two places from 18th to 20th spot from the previous ranking.

Germany remain the world number one ranked team.
