Finally, Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi gets UK work permit

Super Eagles forward Taiwo Awoniyi has been granted a work permit that will allow him to play in the English Premier League from next season.

Awoniyi joined English giants Liverpool, but he has spent the last five years on loan in Belgium and Germany, due to the lack of a work permit.

He was initially not qualified for a work permit, because he’s yet to play for the Super Eagles, however, he was granted the permit this week a lengthy application process.

Awoniyi is still on loan at the German Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin, but he’s now qualified to play for any team of his choice in England from next.

The FIFA U17 world cup winner has scored seven goals and added four assists before he suffered a serious injury before the end of the campaign.

Awoniyi still has a contract with Liverpool but it remains unclear what Jugen Klopp will do with him in the summer.
