Head coach Finidi George says he is happy with Enyimba’s victory over Al Ittihad of Libya in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Enyimba defeated the Libyans 2-0 in Aba on Sunday and they are one match away from reaching the lucrative group phase of the competition.
Goals from Sadiq Aboubakar and Victor Mbaoma sealed the victory for People’s Elephants and they needed to avoid defeat in the second leg to qualify.
Speaking after the game, Finidi George said, he’s happy with the results and the overall performance of the team.
“I’m quite happy. It is a game that in the first ten minutes we were a little bit nervous. After that, we dominated the game throughout ninety minutes.”
“We kept possession, we had lots of chances in the first half and the second half. We were a little bit unlucky to not have scored. I’m quite happy with the boys .” He said.
The second leg could be played in Tunisia or Egypt because Al Ittihad can’t play at home at the moment.
