Flamingos captain Dah Zossu Alvine promises a better performance against Germany

Team Captain Dah Zossu Alvine has apologized to Nigerians following the heartbreaking loss to Colombia in the semi-final of the ongoing FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.

The Flamingos arrived the match as the favorites, following a run of three consecutive victories but failed to live up to expectations as the Colombians dominated the encounter from start to finish.

The Nigerians however were lucky to force the game into penalties, again they failed to take a massive advantage in the shoot out and deservedly lost out 5-6 to the Colombians.

Alvine who played the entire duration of the game, regrets the outcome and has tendered an apology on behalf of the team.

Wednesday’s defeat was really devastating, we wanted to play in the final but we didn’t make it.

We were pained and heart broken last night, I want to apologize to our fans that believed in us.

Flamingos will face Germany in the third place match on Sunday, she said, They will be ready for the clash.

We have picked ourselves up and will do all we can to win  the bronze medal.” She concluded.
