Flying Eagles draw old enemy Ghana, Niger in U20 WAFU Cup

Flying Eagles of Nigeria has been drawn in Group B of WAFU Under 20 championship alongside Ghana, the Niger Republic and the Benin Republic billed for Lome, Togo from 6th – 16th December.

The WAFU tournament is a warm-up program for the five west African teams taking part at the 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Tanzania early next year.

 

The Paul Aigbogun side will tackle Benin’s Young Squirrels in their opening game of the tournament on 7th December, before facing Junior Mena of the Niger Republic on 9th of December and the final Group game against old rivals Black Satellites of Ghana on 12th December.

 

In Group A, hosts Togo will slug it out against the Young Elephants of  Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and Senegal.

 

The opening match of the tournament will be between Togo and Cote d’Ivoire on 6th December, before Senegal and Burkina Faso battles it out the same night.

 

Group B Matches will come up at the Stade JCA, both in Lome, while Stade Municipal, will host the final match on 16th December.
