Flying Eagles’ WAFU Cup exit is a wake up call, says Femi Ajilore

Former Olympics Eagles player, Oluwafemi Ajilore has stated that the Flying Eagles exit from the Wafu B competition in the Benin Republic is a wake-up call for the federation to take grass-root football seriously.

Speaking to brila.net, Ajilore stated that it’s quite unfortunate to see Nigeria being the giant of Africa humiliated this way in a WAFU competition, it is bad,’ he said.
He noted that no Nigerian team will be humiliated at any level if the grass-root football structure is in place.
“I don’t think we have prepared enough, when we don’t prepare enough for a tournament you can see the result and I think that’s what we have seen from the Ladan Bosso’s side.”
