Flying Eagles head coach, Aliyu Zubairu says his team will give everything to defeat Kenya in their final group match at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

Zubairu’s side played out a goalless draw against Morocco in their second Group B game at the June 30 Air Defence Stadium in Cairo on Sunday night.

The result leaves Nigeria second in the group with four points from two matches level with group leaders Morocco, who hold a superior goal difference.

Kenya, meanwhile, sit at the bottom of the table after losing 3-2 to Morocco and 3-1 to Tunisia in their opening two matches. Despite their poor form, Zubairu insists his team will not take the Rising Stars lightly.

“We will approach the game against Kenya with all sense of positivity,” Zubairu said after the Morocco clash.

“They are a good side and we will play against them with a lot of respect even though they are yet to get a point in this group. We will play with full concentration to get the three points.

“We have seen the Kenyans play, we saw them in their match against Morocco, and we know what they can offer.

“And the fact that they don’t have any point doesn’t reduce the strength of their team. We are going in with the right mindset.

“We are going to approach the match with all sense of positivity to make sure we get the three points from the match.”

A win for the Flying Eagles on Wednesday will guarantee their place in the quarterfinals and bring them one step closer to qualifying for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
