Flying Eagles win in FIFA U20 World Cup test game

Nigeria U20 MNT, the Flying Eagles, stepped up preparations for the World Cup tournament with a friendly match against local Club Almirante Brown.

The Flying Eagles secured a slim 3-2 victory against the second division team, at the Howard Johnson sports complex, late Friday.

 

Salim Fago, Emmanuel Umeh and Tochukwu Nnadi scored for Nigeria.

The record African Champions will next face Colombia U20 is another test game scheduled for May 16, and depart for Mendoza the next day.


The Flying Eagles will begin their campaign at the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup against debutants Dominican Republic in Mendoza on Sunday, May 21.

Ladan Bosso’s side will face Italy three days later in their second Group D game also in Mendoza.

The two time World Cup runners up will conclude their group stage campaign against five-time winners, Brazil in La Plata on Saturday, May 27.
