Former Barcelona boss, Ernesto Valverde tops the list of shortlisted names for the vacant Super Eagles coaching role.
The Nigeria Football Federation listed the former Athletico Bilbao man for the role, alongside Phillip Coca, and for Paris Saint-German boss Laurent Blanc.
Former Indomitable Lions of Cameroon managers Antonio Conceicao and Jose Peseiro are also said to be on the radar of the NFF.
The NFF almost appoint Jose Peseiro as Super Eagles’ substantive head coach last December after firing former coach, Gernot Rohr.
NFF president Amaju Pinnick, stated last week that the Federation will have no problem appointing Jose Peseiro if he’s available and interested to coach the Super Eagles.
The NFF are currently in the market for a permanent replacement for Gernot Rohr who was sacked in November 2021.
The NFF preferred a foreigner to lead the team, following the failure of interim boss Augustine Eguavoen, who was unable to qualify the Super Eagles for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
