Former captain of Aba-based Enyimba International Mfon Udoh has rejoined his hometown club Akwa United ahead of the new 2018/2019 season.
Udoh has ended a five-year relationship with Enyimba as a free agent and has already resumed training with Akwa United.
“It is mutually agreed that the above player of the club is released to play for any club of his choice.
“Both parties are absolved of all financial encumbrances and obligations. The Nigerian Football Federation and the League Management Company are both by a copy of this letter duly notified,” a club statement signed by its chairman read.
He is the all-time highest goal scorer in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) with 23 goals in a single season.
Akwa United this past week appointed Brazilian Rafael Everton as coach to replace Abdu Maikaba, who has joined Plateau United.
