Former Spurs Man reaches agreement with Al Ahly over $1.4m Lawsuit

Al Ahly have settled the protracted legal battle with Ivorian forward Souleymane Coulibaly after the player paid the club its dues following an agreement between parties.

Al Ahly legal consultant Helmy Abdel-Razek had asserted, Wednesday, that ongoing negotiations with Etoile du Sahel regarding former striker Coulibaly has reached a dead end.

Coulibaly stunned his teammates – including Junior Ajayi – when he left Al Ahly in 2017 in controversial fashion after fleeing towards London without the club’s permission.

The 24-year-old was then fined $1.4 million in 2018 by FIFA’s Dispute Settlement Court as they stressed that Coulibaly should pay this fine before signing for a new club.

Al Ahly stated in an official statement that a tripartite agreement was signed between Al Ahly, Etoile and Coulibaly which guarantees the rights of each party, after the efforts spent by the Tunisian club to reach a deal.
