Frank Onyeka’s third Champions League appearance for Midtjylland ends in defeat

Super Eagles new midfielder Frank Onyeka featured for 90 minutes as his Danish side Midtjylland suffered yet another defeat in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

Onyeka and his teammates went into the clash against Dutch champions Ajax Amsterdam on Tuesday with the hope of picking their first points, but their hope was dashed as Ajax secured 2-1.

 

Midtjylland have now lost all three of their group games, including defeat against Liverpool and Atalanta.

 

Antony and Dusan Tadic scored on 1st and 13th minutes to put Ajax in control of the tie, Anders Dreyer pulled a goal back for the Danish club on 18 minutes.

 

Ajax were given an opportunity to restore their two goals advantage from the penalty spot, but Anthony missed the spot kick.

 

Midtylland however failed to find the much needed equaliser before the end of the match.

 

Onyeka featured in all three match in the Champions League for Midtjylland who currently occupy bottom of the group with zero point.
