Coach of Nigeria’s U15 national team Future Eagles Haruna Ilerika has stated that he is focussed on building the confidence level of players in the Nigeria U15 national team which is a key ingredient in the development of players through the ranks to the senior national team.
Ilerika it was gathered in a chat with www.brila.net said ahead of the team’s participation at the invitational tournament in Japan said he is particular about seeing the players grow in confidence after such international exposure and that should also stir up the fire in them on what height they could reach with the right level of confidence through their developmental stage.
“From the perspective of developmental, we want to see the growth of these boys. We want to see boys who have the potential to be Super Eagles players in the next 6 to 7 years at the world level.
We have been giving very good attention preparing for the tournament in Japan.
It’s a competition we are interested in because we are playing Japan, Romania and Mexico which will help their growth and development.
By the time they come back from this competition, their heart must have been enlarged and the thinking will be that there is no one they cannot play against and this is the type of confidence needed to develop a future champion.”
