Victor Osimhen found the back of the net once again as Galatasaray cruised to a dominant 3-0 victory over Kayserispor on Sunday to secure their 25th Turkish Super Lig title.

The emphatic win at Rams Park in Istanbul took Galatasaray’s points tally to 89, placing them eight points ahead of arch-rivals Fenerbahce with two games left to play.

With this triumph, the Lions have officially been crowned champions of the 2024/25 season and have completed a domestic double, having also lifted the Turkish Cup earlier this month.

Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan, played a pivotal role in the title run. Against Kayserispor, the Nigerian striker opened the scoring with a powerful finish that left the goalkeeper rooted to the spot.

His goal sent the home crowd into a frenzy and marked his 25th strike in 29 league appearances this season, keeping him atop the Super Lig scoring chart.

Just minutes later, Galatasaray extended their lead. Midfielder Lucas Torreira carved open the Kayserispor defence with a well-timed through ball to Barış Alper Yılmaz, who made no mistake with a calm finish into the bottom corner.

The hosts wrapped up the match in spectacular fashion, with veteran Uruguayan goalkeeper Fernando Muslera stepping up to convert a late penalty, sealing the three points and sparking wild celebrations in the stands.

Osimhen’s strike against Kayserispor brought his season tally to an impressive 36 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.

It is his second domestic league title in Europe, following his historic Serie A win with Napoli in the 2022/23 season.

Galatasaray’s consistency and firepower have set them apart this campaign, and with Osimhen leading the line, they’ve not only regained domestic dominance but done so in style.

With two games remaining, the Turkish giants can now enjoy a pressure-free end to the season while celebrating their 25th league title, a historic milestone further sweetened by Osimhen’s contributions.
